In the fall of 2013, First Year Program Curtin College built 3 benches with rustic furniture maker Fred Peryer for the permaculture garden. Located behind Commons College at 78 Park Street, the permaculture garden is a student-initated project that has been planned according to permaculture design principles and grown using organic and sustainable methods. A long-term goal for the project has been to have the garden develop into an outdoor classroom, and have a connection to the Canton community through workshops, lectures and events held on the site. Curtin College will help to fulfill this goal by dedicating the rustic benches in the permaculture garden on Friday afternoon, April 25, 2014 at 2pm.
